Dear SING members and Friends,

Our vision is a world where women are free to make choices for their socio-economic empowerment and that includes where all women live without fear of domestic violence and being attacked by strangers and harassed by male colleagues. Additionally, a world where women are protected against rape in situations of conflict; girls can be girls and are not forced into a union – early marriages; and displaced vulnerable women and girls can focus on building strength and resilience.

SHEROES Foundation, an NGO in Accra, Ghana provided about 40 young girls, teen mothers and women within the Martey Tsuru community with vocational training and entrepreneurial skills to empower them economically.

The level of poverty among young girls and women especially those living in deprived communities, is so high that many of them have to make extremely challenging choices in their lives. In such communities young girls are unskilled and therefore find it difficult to earn a living.

From August 6-9, 2019 more than 200 passionate youth from around the Niger-Delta States gathered for the 3rd annual Pearls Growth Club Holiday Skills Acquisition Camp in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. For Four days, these young ladies learnt from influential speakers and engaged in skill-based workshops.

With excitement and zest the SHEROES International Networking Group (S.I.N.G.) Ghana Chapter organized a Networking Mixer, which took place on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the beautiful Tang Palace in Accra. The featured guest speaker was the Prolific Speaker Extraordinaire Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi. With the benefit of Dayo's knowledge and passion, we reflected on: 'Seeking Your Purpose: Realistic Tools For Defining Who You Are?'
